The evidence is all around us...

….The waters of an accelerating climate catastrophe are rising, waves of hate-filled rhetoric and policy are emanating from those who control–or seek to control–our governments, and inequality between the “haves” and the “have nots” is destabilizing the sea wall holding back the flood.

How do we make sense of these intersecting crises? And what do we do about them? At this year’s Citizen Participation University we will dig into these questions, and we will draw inspiration from the work of our friends who are leading grassroots responses to the epoch-defining challenges we face.

Now in its twelfth year, the CPU is an open-air, bottom-up learning and teaching space. It has a proven track record of bringing organizers, community builders, activists and movement-makers together to forge common strategies and deep collaborations that fuel our work in the months and years ahead. It is a space for anti-racist activists to meet climate organizers, for people working in migrant communities to build bonds of solidarity with those building power from within Roma communities. It is a place where we connect the dots between the small local fights and the big picture. Together, we must heal the world. Are you ready to join us?

This year’s event will take place between  August 16-20, 2021.  (NOTE THE NEW DATE!!)
